Despite my tendency to jump from project to project for the sake of something new and exciting, I’m making an effort to pick up and finish some of those old, forgotten projects. Lately I’ve been working on a two-year-old pair of Froot Loop socks, and am making good progress! One down, one to go.
This is the quickest I’ve ever knit a pair of socks, I finished in just two weeks! These were a fun knit, with a pretty lace cuff and simple ribbed foot.
I’m knitting some awesome socks for a test knit, learning 2 at a time to finally beat Second Sock Syndrome, and only quasi-neglecting my Creme Brulee.
I finished some projects that had been WIPs for about a year, how embarrassing. I finished a shawl, a pair of socks, a pair of gloves, and a hat.
This week, I’ve got some Charade socks on needles, and I’m almost done with my Mondo hood, and *gasp*, The Sweater I (mostly) No Longer Speak Of™.
My first pair of socks are done! I used the Spot Check stitch pattern and the Lifestyle Toe Up formula to make them, and I’m pretty proud of the results.
It turns out that the legions of sock knitters are not crazy. I went the lemming route and dove in, and am really enjoying sock knitting so far! I made one “everyday sock” and have cast on a Monkey. Next up is a toe up sock with a slip stitch pattern. I opened a can of worms here!
It seems like everybody knits socks, and I feel a little left out. I’m not sure if I want to knit socks,or if I just feel peer pressured to! Either way, they seem kind of intimidating.
