Christmas Sewing has officially begun! YAY! Let’s see how many of my planned projects I actually get sewn and posted haha. Let’s kick things off with Zoe looking unbelievably adorable in a red plaid swing dress.
But before we get into the unbelievable adorableness I had to start off with a super cute grumpy face haha! This photo is just too cute not to share. I was really trying to get her photos done before she went down for a nap because it gets dark SO early now, and this was the exact moment she decided she was done with pictures and ready for bed. Such attitude hehe.
We did get really adorable shots before she hit her limit though, she’s actually a really good sport about it.
The pattern is Sophie Swing Dress from Peek-a-boo Patterns and I love this pattern every time I make it. I had only made it in tunic length before but the full dress length is awesome! I don’t usually have a full yard to dedicate to a dress for her but this time I did and I’m really glad I got the chance.
I love how quickly it goes together too, and how little there is to cut out. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the look of gathered skirts, circle dresses, etc… but sometimes it’s really nice to just make a fast simple dress with so few pieces!
This plaid fabric was a dream to sew with, and feels so soft on her, I can only imagine how comfy the dress is! The plaid is from Wolf & Rabbit Fabrics, I went pretty classic with the red but it comes in so many colors! I’m going to have to branch out next time.
Stay tuned for more wintery projects! I have plans for another dress that will make it so hard for me to decide which one will be Zoe’s Christmas dress (not that it matters since we’re not seeing anyone this year).
