Tuesday was Pod’s birthday, and the standing tradition is that I bake him cupcakes for his birthday, because he doesn’t like birthday cake. This year, I took his love for the microcake, and his love for snickerdoodle cookies, and mashed them into yummy snickerdoodle cupcakes!
I had extra batter left over, so I also made a dozen mini-cupcakes. I didn’t think I’d be as amused by them as I was… but it turns out mini-cupcakes are the perfect bite sized snack! And, they are SO CUTE. I have these shot glasses that look like miniature tumbles, so I couldn’t resist the bite-size cupcake with the shot of milk.. I didn’t pull my lights out, so the pictures came out a little blurry, but I just have to share anyway.
For the curious, the recipe I used for the snickerdoodle cupcakes can be found on Bakerella. The frosting is my standard cream cheese frosting with 1 tsp of cinnamon added (hmm, or was it 2? I’m sure it’s delicious either way).
These ones didn’t last long, between both of us being home all day eating them, and our company coming over. They were well received, and Pod had a nice birthday. I even cooked him a delicious dinner! All in all, a nice, quiet, tasty celebration.
